It is with great sadness that I must announce the passing of my dear friend, Leigh Allison.

Leigh went by the name Resasi on this forum, a Swahili nickname given to him as a young boy that translates to “bullet”.

Always with a kind, polite and positive attitude, Leigh shared countless stories with us describing his experiences as a life-long aviator.

I met Leigh way too late in my life, but when our paths finally did cross, he instantly because one of my closest, dearest friends.

Leigh passed peacefully in London last night with family by his side.

I love you Leigh,

Fly high my friend!

Denis

Thank you for sharing this news. I never met him in person but felt like I knew him well. He always helped out with good info and will be missed.

Leigh was one of my favorite friends.
He was truly a renaissance man with fabulous wide ranging adventures.
I am grateful for my time with him.
I miss him.

My heart has been heavy all week - knowing this was coming. I PM'd Leigh after a comment he made last week & heard his sad news that he was at peace & ready to meet his maker, surrounded by family, all his affairs in order & having reflected on his amazing life in aviation and the absolute delight in building and flying the plans-build hornet and recently the fabulous "Blue" GT V-2.

I was SO privileged to have enjoyed many wonderful conversations under the GT & PRA tents at Bensen Days - and gleaned a marvelous bio-/human interest story for our next E-zine.
We had an interesting connection through both our father's WW2 service in Nth Africa - chasing Rommel's army across those desert nations. His father in bombers and mine in the Tank & artillery forces.

All week I was feeling like I should make a big card to put on Blue with everyone's signature - take a photo and email to him. But also felt he was probably in extremis by now - and Denis' sad news at the membership meeting tonight - confirmed my fears we were too late for his earthly eyes & mind to appreciate our remembrance!

Fly high, blue skies & fair winds for those angel wings & a special G'day to all those we are still missing - gone too soon! Loren,Gary,Farmer Jim ...and many more!

Beloved on this forum, missed by many!

My deepest condolences and prayers to all who knew Leigh and for his family during this time of sorrow and pain.

I never met Leigh in person, however I certainly enjoyed our conversations and his input here on this forum.

RIP Leigh my friend.

That sucks. One one my favorite gyro family members. We had many conversations just sitting at the air boss tent at Bensen Days. He was a wonderful person and loved hearing his aviation experiences. My and many others lives are better for having had him in ours. Keep the Rotors spinning up there my friend.

Oh wow. He was possibly one of the biggest friends of Tony Melody, they were always together at an airfield. Big loss to UK gyroplanes single seater wise as he was instrumental in helping new blades come to the UK. Blue skies Leigh.

I noticed that comment also, new something sad was coming.

I never had the pleasure to meet Leigh but he always had some great stories and encouraged me in my quest for a GT VX-2. I am sure the world was a better place for having Leigh in it. God bless you Leigh.

Never met Leigh but exchanged ideas several times. I am praying that his family will smile in peace as they celebrate his life on Earth.

I remember meeting him and his son at bensen days many years ago. Seemed like a great guy and always seemed to have a positive take on things. Had no idea he might have been sick or had some health issues.

Being that this is a hobby that seems to be mostly took up with older folks... If you stick around this hobby long enough, you have to deal with the passing of many people you consider friends. And it sucks.

R.I.P. Leigh, gone but not forgotten!

So sorry to hear... a gentleman gyronaut... he will be missed.
