Not sure if those numbers. I did notice that your machine has an ultra prop on it. This prop is very inefficient and flexes excessively as power is applied to it. It maybe ok to learn on but, you may want to replace it with something better as you fly regularly. Warp Drive is a nice tough prop. Not sure what others are on the market now but just about anything is better than that prop.

That looks like a 8 gallon tank, and with your weight you can expect something around 5 gallons per hour. 87 octane is good.

Check your motor mount very closely, we had one break, the motor dropped 6" the prop cut the rudder cable. The rudder went full deflection and it was a flat spin to the ground. I am not a fan of the all flying tail. I have a Herron T tail and it flies like a arrow.

Thank you from this un-educated neophyte .Is there a letter missing ,"....of the all flying tail." - Did you mean ' tall ' ? I have a offer to buy a 't ' tail made by Ernie Boyette . Gotta figure out a way to get it to S.C. from N.Y.
As to the mounts , have been advised to check t well ,thinking about adding another brace to it . engine mount left from below .JPGengine mount RIGHT side above .JPG

I meant all flying tail, if there's a problem with your pedals or cables it will go full deflection and stay there. I like having a hinged tail.

That what the anti-servo tab on a Tall Tail is for.
So if a rudder cable gets cut it will stay at neutral? If so that is a good thing, the all flying tail on the KB3 will go and stay at full deflection.

Yes, it also gives artificial feedback into the pedals. Chuck would always caution folks who would use one without for the very reasons you said. Without it’s dangerous.

If most of surface area is behind the pivot wouldn't it tend to fly straight (albeit some fluttering)

Most are mounted on the quarter cord and as Dave says they will not self center. Push on the pedal and it stays there. Anti-servo tab fixes this.

I saw it happen, it was ugly.

I believe both of you...just is counter-intuitive.
Maybe WaspAir or Jean-Claude will chime in with some physics.
