Installation of a UAvionix AV20 E and Tail Beacon X in my AR-1

Ken
Then there was something really wrong with your installation or equipment. I have not seen a single failure when installed correctly. I did see failure when some customers broke the ADSB antenna while trying to trailer the gyro loading it up and down from a trailer. Then they never paid attention to check antenna was there solidly in pre-flight and went and flew it. EchoUAT burnt out because of that because the power cannot be dissipated. Then it failed every time. So if the antenna is broken or not properly connected (bad RG400 cable connection) then it will burn out and fail and you have to send it back to get the board changed and fixed.
I actually sent the unit back to them to be checked out. We found nothing. Gold connectors on shielded cables were installed, and multiple antennas. Still no improvement. The categories that failed were BAlt, and Mode 3A, and sometimes SIL, SDA, NACp, NACv, Flight ID, Emit Cat, and Mode 3A

I would consider it - but I'm using the ADSB in from the ping. Can they be separated?
What do you mean ADB-In from the ping? If I understand what ou are saying, is that you are still using the echoUAT, but only for IN receiving???

Where was your SkyFYX installed?
I can fix your BAlt (Baro Alt) in a sec... Same for Mode 3A...

The Ping and Echo are up under the nose to the side of the trunk opening, the GPS is up on top of the dashboard, and the antenna is on the belly about a meter or so behind the stock antenna below the pilot.

Do you remember what parts of teh FAA ADSB test were failing? Do you have one of those PDFs saved somewhere for analysis?
The "on-ground" portion that allows ATC tower to know where you are on the airport during 0,0 fog is real finnicky and was usually what failed on mine. I had to remove my TERRA transponder and send it out for update to the next revision. There's only 1 guy in US that works on TERRA.
