The FAA ASIAS shows

flight phase - taxying

I wonder if the turning rotors hit the sign.

Over 3k....(From the ground !)
That would seriously suck, we get monster dust devils in Az.
I have been spun around 360 in a sailboat on a lake in Az.
When working on the tower at my building, I saw one coming through the desert which is more of a mesquite forest, so no real dust.
I heard the whooshing noise first.
I realized it could get serious when I saw chunks of cactus getting hurled more than 100ft. and I couldn't get down quickly.
Luckily it passed far enough away and I didn't have to try to dodge the projectiles.....

I was working at a hangar at a west suburban Chicago airport when a dust devil went by the open hangar door. We had a 50 pound steel drip pan draining in the dirt outside when the devil picked it up level, spun it around a few times and set it back down. The Dust Devils can have some "SNORT"

That's the same phenomenon that routinely lifts1400 pounds of sailplane and people to 16,000+ feet in the summer time here.

The planet Mars also has dust devils.

Interesting to view the dust devils in this video are rotating clock wise. The study was done in Nevada, Northern hemisphere.

Mars so far only has one helicopter and no sailplanes to exploit the lifting force.

I'll volunteer to be the first if the funding can be arranged.
