Now that's what I'm talk'n about!

Thanks for sharing!!

Brooke great to see you airborne again. Looks as though you have put together a nice bird, congratulations.

Brooke

How is that big Yamaha in maneuvering and low speed handling?

Do you have an idea what your rate of climb is?

Mark

Looking good Brooke! Nice to see you in the air my friend :)

You're next, my friend....lol. It is great to be back in the air, and quite a bit different from the 503. Climb rate unknown for sure, but somewhere around 1200 fpm. Low speed manuvering is docile kinda like a two-place, stick is heavier with the 25's and 8 oz tip weights. Torque roll on the airframe is minimal with easy on throttle, but probably dangerous to just nail it. Pre-rotator definitely needs a 9" drum compared to the 7" on it, but once spooled up she does whatever you want......really need to hold on to my popcorn....lol.

Fantastic!! Great to see you in the air.

Is this a "C" gearbox?

This has been a great build thread and unusual descriptions for the build. I like pictures, is it too much, to ask for some video of this muscle car?
You must feel like Triple XXX in the seat of that thing. Thanks again for sharing the build.

Yes, it is a "C" box which as I understand it is the only box capable of housing the clutch. I was hoping Tim checked into this build once in awhile, as he is the man to get some video coverage at BD's. I'll see what I can do in the meantime. The "unusual" desciptions in the build kept my spirits up during the relentless set-backs, although Gabor is the king of comedy in a build. It's all good. I would rate the thrust at 2 G's, it's quite noticable.....Ice Cube I'm not, but we're all "Maverick's"....lol.

Looks Good! I'll bet it feels good to be back in the Air!!

Indeed it does. It was love at first flight, and the passion has only grown. You know how it is. I've seen gyro pilots who gave it up for various reasons, but NEVER because they got bored from flying. I just wish there were more two-place gyros giving introductory flights. People like Steve, Ron, Dave, and a few others in 2-place machines really give their hearts to this sport. I'm so grateful I took them up on that intro flight.

I'd like to build a 2-place myself to further promote this great pastime. It's one of the reasons I went with the Yamaha. There's plenty of power at a very affordable price compared to the 912. If the case-hardened clutch hub and centering ring prove to be the secret ingredient to longivity, I think Racer will really have a cool corner on the market.

This is the first one with these parts as part of the package. The engine is proven, and time will tell about the rest. It's great to be in the air again, and really exciting to be part of this experiment. Thanks Ed.

Brooke- You have a nice looking and very powerful gyro. Glad to see you are enjoying it. Stan

Thanks Stan, now I have to practice my slow flight with a pylon out in the field dropping eggs from 100'.....lol. I'm sure Jake will be a greater threat to you than I will be, 10' is my personal best. See you at BD's. ;)

Brooke- Good luck on egging me. HINT- Almost all the eggs overshoot me. Stan

I'll be using my left foot as a sight for "bombs away"......lol.
