I'm building a Hornet and will be using a Rotax 670 for power.
I've been looking through the threads to see what radiator is being used for the Rotax 582 and have read that the VW Rabbit radiator is common on the Dominators but there are several different radiators for the Rabbit.......

Any advice on a radiator for my Rotax 670 ?

Not sure if this will work with your machine but this VW Rabbit diesel radiator has worked well for me on two different machines. It has mounts built in to it so it can be secured in 2 different ways and is reasonably priced. It keeps my 115 HP motor cool so might be too much cooling for you.

Yes, that is the one and you are right the dimensions are way off. I am about to go out to the hangar and can do some measurements for you. Let me know what specific dimensions are important to you and I will let you know.

I used one I found in the best improvements for Dominators thread on here. I had a 670 with that radiator which was a Honda Civic racing radiator. I mounted it at a an angle to reduce drag. It worked but was marginal ok hot days and lots of taxiing.

I would appreciate some numbers if you get a chance.
The dimensions that I'm curious about are the height & width.
And would love to see some pics of how it was mounted....to show the mounting points on the radiator.

Here ya go Professor,
The radiator dimensions are 25 1/2" tall 13" wide and 2" deep. There are 2 different mounting options, ears on the 4 corners with holes 23" tall center to center and 12 1/4" wide. There are also threaded brass insert cast into the tanks that are 20" tall center to center and 7 1/2" wide. The 2nd picture on Amazon distorts this feature but is well represented on their 3rd illustration, they point the same direction as the water inlet and outlet.
See the pictures of my installation on my partially assembled machine. Bolted using rubber shock mounts on the to and just loose at the bottom for an engine run with propeller removed.
Hope this is helpful.

They hold up pretty well, the mounting system called for in our original build called for basically bolting it directly to the airframe and that worked for about 200 hours then vibration took it's toll and developed a small intermittent leak where one of the cores attached to the bottom tank. When we installed a replacement radiator (same PN) we rubber mounted it using four 1 inch diameter Lord mounts and it is expected to last much longer. There are much more robust heat exchangers available that are significantly more expensive. You know, your mileage may vary.
