Hello Everyone.

My name is Chris Knight and I am the owner of Knight Avionics. I have a CPL in rotorcraft (experience in S300 and R44) as well have worked as a regional dealer rep for Avidyne for the last 5 years working GA fixed wing, rotorcraft, and some light jets. Decided to try and start my own thing and see how it goes.

I will be on here regularly to keep up with the industry as well as be here if anyone needs something.

Knight Avionics is currently a reseller of Mid Continent, uAvionix, and Avidyne. Trig, and Concorde Battery are both in the works. Please feel free to let me know if there are any products you would like to have cheaper/easier access to and I will see what I can do.

Look forward to being a part of this forum community.

Hey my name is Will can anyone point me in a good direction .
I want to get a sport license to fly a 1300 lb helicopter. I live in Wisconsin thank you
Welcome to the Rotary Wing Forum Will.

As far as I know there is no FAA Sport Pilot Helicopter certificate.

To fly a 1,300 pound helicopter you will need at least a Private Pilot, Rotorcraft/Helicopter certificate.

Federal Aviation Regulations 61.103 through 61.109 spells out the requirements.

Please help me out here than because I talked with the CEO of cicare Keith Barr and he said to fly the CICARÉ ⁸ i would need a sports pilot license.
Could this be new or 200.000 scam. Thanks for the feedback

rather a lot
FAR 61.98(b)(2) sets requirements for the Recreational Pilot certificate with Rotorcraft - Helicopter rating. You could fly a 1300 lb helicopter with that. It is slightly less demanding to earn than the Private Pilot certificate.

Helicopters were considered too complex when the Sport Pilot and Light Sport Aircraft rules were written, so they are not included. The person you spoke to is misinformed.

People are often not careful about their language or misunderstand the regulations.

I am confident at this time there is no FAA Sport Pilot Helicopter certificate.
