I've always wanted to know more on the yellow one in post #4. I've seen photos of it a few times, but haven't been able to find more information. Do you know much about it?

Looks like a lot of activity Vladimir; thank you for sharing the fun.

Do you know Alexander Lameko from Kronshtadt, Russia across the border?

I know it is a big country but in the USA most of the gyroplane people know each other.

I love the way the passion for aviation can cross borders, language and culture.

I am Russian, and often met with Alexander. Alexander Lameko know all aviators. He knows me well. Of course, we all know each other.

I tested this gyro for about two years so I can give some information about it. There are couple threads about it here on the forum, i.e.
http://www.rotaryforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18495
http://www.rotaryforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6605&page=2
http://www.rotaryforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17665

etc

Here is a short video of me flying this gyro - it was first time spraying equipment was installed:

Unfortunately, the chief designer died.

Vova, I hope Valentin Ustinov doesn't read this forum otherwise he would be surprised you announce him dead.

The black one in post #4 looks interestingl
I see a horizontal stabilizer attached to the rotor head.
And a rotor deflector arching over the extra tall V tail.
Interesting!!!

This project was abandoned 3-4 years ago after 10+ years of very controversial activities.

I flew this black thing once just before they decided not to spend big bucks on it anymore. This only flight showed that most of these big bucks were spent in vain. It flew extremely unstable and has a bunch of other annoying flaws.

This was twice disappointing since its designer is my good friend. More than that - he was my teacher while I made my first steps in gyros.

You talk about this?

There is a huge multupage thread about this gyro, Brent, on a Russian forum: http://www.reaa.ru/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?num=1324210184

You'll find a lot of well detailed photos of it as well as some links to videos.

Valery Kulpinsky built this gyro in Ukraine and it is likely the only interesting gyro in Ukraine up to date. I didn't see this gyro myself but from what I've read about it both author and his gyro are very interesting.
