Can anybody tell me what the threaded insert that is placed into the end of a control rod is called?

This is for a special project that I am working on.

I intend to insert male heim style bearings into the ends.

The ends are inserted into the tubing, then drilled and a bolt placed through the tubing to hold the end in place. Finally a Heim end is screwed into the insert.

WHAT ARE THEY CALLED AND WHERE CAN I GET THEM? (not the heim bearing ends, the inserts!)

Do a search for "Threaded Bung Insert for Heim Joint"

If you can't find what you need, give me a holler I can make them for you.

Here is a picture of what Heath is talking about........

1/4 28 is pretty small, I see that's the only size they carry.
The only place on a gyro I see use for that is NO WHERE !! HAhaha :) :boink:

I can not find 3/8 any where that's why I make my own.
Find some 3/8 24 Darren, much appreciated.

Whatever........

I have these made to fit inside 20mm 6061 T6 tube , has 5/16" unf thread to take MM5 rod ends from Spruce. Also have 500kgs of that 20mm tube available in any length up to 6.5m.
