Hello all. I thought I would post to see what others' experiences are. Here is the situation: I am about three hours into my phase one flight testing and I happened to look up at the rotor head just to see how things were going up there and the head had "shimmy" to it. It seemed to be twisting back and forth around the axis of the rotor. Kind of what I see when I engage the pre-rotator or the rotor brake. I was surprised there was so much movement up there since there is no vibration in the stick to speak of. Is this normal? I haven't flown any other RAFs so I don't know what to expect.

I thought the bushing was primarily for for and aft motion of the upper mast, not twisting. If this is normal, then okay, I will fly more at ease since seeing it for the first time in action unnerved me.

You are correct, check you bushing and the plastic slider plates,
