South Africa has a large gyro community flying many different types of gyros.

Magni M16 which was being piloted by a young fixed wing commercial pilot who had recently been employed by a company which uses gyros to do agricultural crop dusting, and he was busy with his gyrocopter pilots license training. He failed to return from a solo training flight and the gyro wreckage was discovered on nearby farmland amidst a fire which appears to have started as a result of the accident. Civil aviation authorities are at the scene and investigating the cause of the tragic accident.
