When is the kickstarter firing up Heron? Maybe you could reduce the time to market on your coaxial vertiplane by avoiding the abysmal power density of contemporary electrics (how much *does* that inverter weigh exactly?) by using a Freedom-Motors Rotapower Wankle Rotary to power this dream machine ... is this the "2-4 people tooling around at 250MPH for a little over the cost of a gyroplane" widget you mentioned in the LarryN thread?

Hello Larry
I just got that article, Stan is doing the research on all parts for this machine!
The manufacturer of electric motors gave us the good news on the 1 hour 30 minutes maybe one year ago, we started with 50 minutes.
That two seater after Sun-N-Fun got an upgrade in design and can go up to 6 passengers on the same powerplant, just prop reconfig.
Stan's project was picked as one of four, by DARPA for the TERN project! There will be another application for a similar vehicle which we are better suited. (we lost to Grumman)
It is all a Pogo reconfiguration, based on their own analysis. We now have better materials and engines for a lighter smaller aircraft.
Georgia Tech is our support team.
Now it is just a matter of money for one of the versions.
Going two or four seaters is pretty close in price. Electronics package will differ.
It is a good drone for long deliveries or other use and can be made full auto for personal transportation, as it can park itself and come back pick you up on demand!
Lots of possibility for door to door transportation.
thanks
