geo metro motor

there is a dominator here that has flown on the geo 4cyl

Jim Fields at AeroWorks International currently has the Geo/Suzuki 1.3L four-cylinder mounted on a single place gyro.

Jim's blog, where he posts updates on the development of his machines, is here.

Are these a good engine? Where can you get them from and how about PSRU's for them

Thanks

Barry

What is on Anthony Spagnoletti's Tandem Air Command ?

Anthony had one of the 4 cylinder Ecotech engines on his machine if I remember correctly.

We've been converting the Geo/Suzuki Auto engines for aircraft with great results for 16 years now with hundreds of our reduction drive kits flying on all kinds of fixed wing aircraft, Trikes, PPC's, and even a few gyros. We chose the Geo over the Suburu typically used on many homebuilt gyro's because we could deliver similar power at much less all up weight.

By converting an auto engine with our proven redrive we can come in at a fraction of the cost of a Rotax® 912, 912S or even 914 Turbo. More info on our website at http://www.raven-rotor.com

Yes, the K series Suzuki Turbo's are VERY impressive. We don't yet have any of the 1.0L engines Stateside, but we have already converted the smaller 660cc K6A that came stock in the Arctic Cat snowmobiles here. An easy 500+ lbs. of static thrust and very compact. There are photos of one we did the redrive for on a Zenair 701 on their builders site. We just can't source enough used engines to make tooling up for a production redrive affordable. The K14A a 1.4L bigger brother engine to the 1.0L is already in the pipeline for Europe and is supposed to come to the USA in the newly released Suzuki Swift here soon. That engine is about 120HP without Turbo and it won't weigh much more than the 1.0L. With turbo watchout! Nothing will match it for the weight and reliability.
