UPDATE: SOLD

(Posting for my brother.)

Up for bid is a newly restored Air Command single place gyrocopter. The engine is a Subaru EA-81 1.8 Litre (1800 cc). The propeller is a Warp Drive 60" that is directly driven from the engine and is ground adjustable for pitch. It has new oil, plugs, points, cap, wires and electric fuel pump. It has a 6 gallon seat/fuel cell. The engine uses approximately 3 gallons per hour.

The main rotor is an excellent set of the original 23 foot "Skywheels" that the kit originally came with. Engine driven prerotator. There is also a cockpit adjustable pitch trim for the rotor.

The avionics consists of Airspeed, Water Temp, Voltmeter, Oil Pressure and cockpit viewable fuel gauge. It is also fitted with a Hobbs meter which is currently showing approximately 260 hours. The enclosure is original Air Command with the exception of the windscreen which was lengthened for better wind protection.

The nose wheel has been replaced with a Ken Brock style nose wheel which is stronger than the original. It also has a landing light and side position lamps as well as a very nice strobe that is mounted on the belly.

No previous or current crash damage. This machine was originally built, maintained, and flown by Ed Alderfer until recently acquired by my brother, who decided he would rather fix his Piper Colt than fly open cockpit gyro in the often cold WV mountains.

60 inch prop is a big prop for direct drive. Most used only a 52 inch prop.
