Can a fuel mizer [fuel flow, useage meter, guage] be satisfactorily installed into an EFI powered machine........if so, how
Thanks in advance........

Ken,
Did you return the unit you bought? I might be interested in a unit like that if the price is right. Thanks.

I gave it to a friend. If you buy one, buy it online. Aircraft Spruce wants an arm and a leg in their catalogue.

I don't see that product on their site. I've seen it for less than a hundred dollars. Do a good search. I think the lowest price I saw was from a boat dealer.

Russ, no problems, I have one working on my gyro. Although it depends how you have your plumbing for the return fuel coming down from the rail. If you have the return line into a surge tank and only the one line out of your fuel tank going into the surge tank, then you are laughing !! Some route their return fuel line back into the top of the tank and if you have this set up then its a no go !

Do I have to do everything for you.

Scroll down on this page to the fuel computer. It can handle duel fuel tanks and compensates for return fuel.

This unit contains fuel flow and fuel level functions. Fuel level can be obtained from a standard fuel level sender and can be calibrated similar to our other Stratomaster instruments. Alternatively fuel level can be calculated from fuel flow. Includes alarm output for low fuel level. Fuel endurance readout included. This unit includes a "total fuel used" accumulator that can be reset to zero at any time. Fuel level is displayed in bargraph form with digital readout of remaining fuel. Units can be set to liters, U.S. Gallons, Imperial Gallons, or pounds. Fuel flow is displayed in digital form as quantity per hour.

Brian.......have surge tank, but return fuel goes to the main tank. Ok if I change return fuel to the surge tank, where do I plumb in the mizer ?????
Initial guess would be the line from tank to surge tank?????
thanks for your help here......

I don't get it. It says on some sites that it's for carbureted engines. I talked to the designer of my FI system and he said it can't be used on FI systems. I had a return line into my main fuel tank. You don't want to measure the return, right?

You're talking $320 with the sender plus shipping for that outfit on the one you're suggesting. I was talking about the one on the link in my post......darn Utahns.

Ken I have been running one on my fuel injected engines.

Russ, put the return line back into the swirl or surge tank, and place the sensor in the line from the fuel tank to your surge tank.

The suge tank needs to be a couple of litres so that the fuel does not get hot, as most of the fuel goes round and round thru the injector rail to the surge tank.

McEagle Tim explained it well a while back.

Aussie Paul. :)

The one from sport flying shop will work with a fuel injected engine and needs two senders so that it can calculate the fuel usage. It also tells you the total fuel flow and the return fuel flow and can handle two fuel tanks. Wath out for those damn utahns there everywhere. At least I see them everywhere.

Thanks Paul.

Your mizer will work just great, just remember to calibrate it and you will find its very accurate Russ !! Its so much easier to set power settings off the flow meter than the rev counter [particularly my rev counter as it needs replacing]
