Flying tall tail, free to a good home

I have a 56” fiberglass flying tall tail with the horizontal stabilizer at the base of the rudder. It has a 5/16” post that extends 2 1/2” inches past the top and bottom, with 1” fine threads on each end. It’s 20 pounds in total. Cosmetically it’s fair but a layer of paint would make it look decent. I found it on Marketplace in September.

I was unexpectedly gifted a GyroTechnic tall tail last week so I’d like to “pass it on” with this one. It’s not perfect but I suspect in the right hands it can be made to work. It’s just beyond my meager fabrication skills to get it mounted correctly/ securely.

If someone can make use of this tall tail you can have it for free. If you’re near northwest Virginia (Strasburg) you can come pick it up.

If it needs to be shipped, I have the sturdy wooden crate my GyroTechnic tall tail was shipped in. I will just need you to pay for the shipping costs. It’s a large flat plywood box and will weigh around 65 pounds total. I don’t know yet which carriers will ship it but I suspect UPS will.
