Harry,

So when I was told I have to spend time 'under the hood' when I practice IFR does that mean I have to drive the roads first in a car? ;)

Great Pictures there is a PRA chapter 26 Fly-in May 21&22 in wachula come on down and visit.
Greg :D

Harry, you should tell everyone about all the race tracks scattered about in your neck of the woods

Very Nice Gents,
You guys have some serious freeways over there.
Mitch.

Harry,
Picture #2 had me mesmerized. What an incredible shot! Of course I'm a fan of all your photos. But that one in particular... wow.

Ken,
That one left me speachless. It's like God bending down to peak at a 3D model. The ribbon-like road through hilly terrain is beautiful.

I'm convinced now why flying is considered an art form rather than a science; It's a ballet with the wind, with the ultimate sets and backdrops.

Thanks guys...and Ron, I did post a couple pics of tracks in an earlier thread from central Florida...one of a dirt bike track and one of a hard surface car track. Lot's of those racin' guys come in every month.

.

I was told that those were Horse tracks Harry. That very wealthy people from overseas keep these tracks for their private use to keep their race horses in god shape while in america...

I will never forget seeing all those horse tracks while enroute to Gainsville on my long cross country flight. I would have never imagined that there is a market big enough to support these farms. Some of the horse stalls look like million dollar houses.

Hey! I was in central Florida a long time ago to take the kids to Disney World. No sweat!!?? I was constantly sweating from the humidity and swatting those huge mosquitos.....wait, that was Canada.....or was it Alaska where the huge mosquitos live?

OK Ron, I finally woke up...I had reference to the 4 wheel racetracks and you had meant the 4 legged kind.

Yeah...there are many, many horse ovals around...but the horse owners here abouts say, "Marion County is the horse capitol of the world." All I know is, there are plenty of thoroughbred horse farms around. At certain times of the year, 727's and DC-8's are carrying horses in and out of Ocala International.

.

They might be from here, we have been thinking of replacing the state bird with a misquito.
Harry I'm glad you were working radar up there. Somebody would have got a ticket and never knew who clocked them. fine flying shots!!!
