I made a long (for me) flight from Kerrville to Bandera along the Medina River to Medina, flew along the grass strip and by the red hangar where Tom gave me my first ride in a Gyro and then returned over the mountains to Kerrville. I made the mistake of making a 1 hour video with my GoPro, never again!

Enjoy, I sure did.

Thanks Bobby. I particularly like your air taxi down the runway. I really like how you stop all forward motion before you allow the nose wheel to touch.

I like the way you take extra steps to make sure everything you do is safe and reliable. Interesting about the EAA in Fredericksburg. How many total members do they have?

Thanks for your comments. Not sure on total membership but comment was made that normal attendance is about 80 people.

Another fun thing to do is land and never let the nose wheel touch and start another take off. It takes some skill to do so.

Bobby, why 'never again' on the hour long video? I just finished editing a 9 hr video of my Day 1 build... trimmed a ton of footage and sped up the rest... only about 35 seconds long now. LOL
Still have to add the transitions and such before posting to my channel

Never again because of the length of the video and the time it took to download it and then try to edit.

Now have a remote so I can control the camera and have also found a Video editor that is easy to use! Will play with transitions next.

I stumbled on ClipChamp that I found very easy to use. Edited my video with it now to add transitions. Build video for AWC, great idea, do you have the 51% build spreadsheet?

I used clipchamp for a minute, but it couldn't handle the resizing of the photos (over 1,500 of them) and would crash. DaVinci resolve took on the challenge with ease.
I do have the 51% build spreadsheet and I'm documenting as I go... not to the detail I'd like; I just get too focused on the build and don't want ot stop and document. :)

I'm doing a solo round trip to Fredericksburg tomorrow morning. Called 1800wxbrief and got the forecast and info. Even though not required filed a flight plan. I had already created a website profile so most of my info was already loaded up. Nice support.

I'm glad you're going there your first time on a weekday since it can get busy there on weekends. Busy because of the great cafe right there on the airport. Let's meet up sometime for a meal once work slows down. I think it's about the same distance for both of us.

Eric:

I was really surprised, only heard 2 other aircraft at the airport on my trip up and nothing when I got close to landing.

Sounds good!

My solo this morning was HOT. Was planning on leaving at 0645 but forecaster said mist and haze in the area so suggested I delay an hour.

Was cool on the ground when I took off but after climbing a few hundred feet it was hot. I should have left my jacket at home.

Trip up was fine at 3000MSL with a 15kt tail wind. Trip back was guite a bit slower!

Trimmed video, enjoy!

Did you file flight plans?
Yes, my CFI recommended it and with my profile already in 1800wxbrief it only took an extra minute. I got a link on my phone so that I could activate the plan with one click and then a link later so I could close, again one click!
