Fly a ARGON GTL 916is on a sport pilot license??? Empty it weighs 672 pounds so you should make it easily under the 1320 for sport pilot . Sport pilot can only carry one other passenger but can they fly an LSA with 3 seats which this has? Can you remove a 3rd seat and put in a makeshift cargo holder? (Or obviously only have one other person with you.... Or is that 3rd seat the problem)? Would it make a difference bringing in this gyroplane as experimental exhibition which some do? Thanks for your help.!

If you import an assembled aircraft as Exp-Exhibition then I think you will be bound by the gross weight number established by the builder and can't undercut that (carrying a lighter load won't change the authorized maximum gross weight). If you build one under the 51% rule, you can determine the number of seats you put in and the gross weight.

You can not fly the Argon GTL 916is Triple, The Argon GTL 916 is Triple comes with variable pitch propeller, as a sport pilot you can not fly an aircraft with a variable pitch propeller.
It comes with that propeller by default

It's not all that much work to upgrade to Recreational or Private, snd then you can fly any gyro you wish.

I also thought the MOSAIC proposal was for 4 seat fixed wings only, so gyroplanes would still be limited to 2 seats. Fixed wings would still only be allowed to carry one passenger.

That's correct but to clarify. 4 seat airplanes coming from MOSAIC update (Dan Johnson liked to call them MLSA or Mosaic LSA) can be flown with 4 people by a private pilot. Only Sport Pilot restricts you to fly that MLSA airplane with 1 passenger and 1 pilot. It is a pilot certificate restriction not an airplane restriction. Still the airplane can be fast up to 250 knots as long as it can do a clean gross weight stall of 54 knots. No airplane exists that has that kind of speed spread but basically that will be allowed, and also electric propulsion or turbine engine would be allowed. Even twin engines are allowed for airplanes by MOSAIC but ASTM standards for such aircraft do not yet exist. No twin engine work is done yet by ASTM sub-committee.
Gyroplanes 2 seat are slated to be allowed by MOSAIC but there is no sub-committee in action yet actually updating standards. There is some guy running the Gyroplane sub-committee but in reality, he isn't doing jack. Has not even contacted major manufacturers to make a working group active yet. I am hoping I can do that and invite active manufacturers and active pilots and CFIs to participate if not help write the standard to at least vote on it and provide feedback.

If it is possible to create such a group, I kindly request the possibility to access it.

Thank you

I am going to try and do something. The people currently responsible for ASTM gyroplane sub-committee are obviously sleeping. As far as I know no effort has been made to contact any manufacturers to put a task group together.
