Fear of heights?

Does anyone know what the altitude was?

Rumor was 60-65,000 feet, putting it just above Class A airspace, and into Class E. Too high for ATC; you need clearance to descend into Class A, but not to fly in the Class E above it.

Last year, right after my flight test, I returned over water. So I flew at 6000 ft.
And I didn't like the way the ground began looking just like a map...
Lets you appreciate just how good those sectional charts are!

When I was flying PPC my 10 year old niece stayed with us for a few weeks. She was extremely afraid of heights and at a carnival once they had to stop a little kiddie Ferris wheel cause she started screaming. Her mom said it would be ok if we tried to get her to fly in the PPC with me cause she knew she wouldn't do it anyway. We strapped her in got my chute all laid out and started rolling. She immediately started screaming before I even came close to getting off the ground. I shut down instantly. While my wife was calming her down I laid my chute out again and we asked her if she wanted to try again. "I guess", she replied. I took out and she started screaming again but not quite as bad. As soon as my wheels left the ground she got quiet and then about 30 feet in the air all I heard was "Wow, this is beautiful!" over and over again. I took her up to about 500 feet and that wasn't high enough for her. She was just amazed at the view!

We called her mom and told her what we had done and she absolutely could not believe it. She couldn't thank us enough for doing it and helping some with her fear.

A few years after that I took my nephew about the same age and loved it too. I then had the "pleasure" of riding alone in a car with him for 4 hours the same day. Guess what I heard about for 4 hours? He even decided when he got to high school he would buy a PPC instead of a car and fly to school. He lived across the alley from the high school.

Always such a thrill to take kids that age on there first plane ride!!!
