Gyrocopter crashed near Odorheiul Secuiesc in Romania. The sole 39 years old pilot died in the ensuing fire. Probably cause technical. Loss of control on roll axis.

4.1 Findings
The Romanian Airclub had no information regarding the flying activity with aircraft certified by ASC, on this flight field;
The pilot did not hold a license issued/recognized by the Romanian Airclub;
Pilot was not authorized to perform adjustments on the controls chain;
The technical expertise of the broken rods in the chain of the rotor head controls, confirmed that they failed before impact and fire.
4.2 Cause of accident
The cause of the accident was the loss of control of the rotor head as a result of the breakage of a threaded rod (Rod 1) from the roll control mechanism/system.
Favoring cause: several non-compliant adjustments made by the pilot, which have induced successive and repeated physical stresses within Rod 1.

Un pilot tânar a avut parte de o moarte groaznică! S-a prăbuşit cu un girocopter, un aparat de zbor ultrauşor, într-o pădure, lângă aerodromul din Odorheiu Secuiesc. Decolase de câteva secunde când a văzut că nu mai poate controla aeronava.
