I peddled the Gunslinger over to the pumps to top up the front tank just as a Cherokee slipped off the ramp and into the pump stall. Sunset was 6:41, it was 5:00, and the trip home was 1:30 at 80 MPH GPS. The dad got out, Mom and daughter were already standing at the ready. Dad fussed with the damn card reader and finally got it to accept, then yelled out for me to go ahead and fill 'er up. Say what?

"I only need 3-4 gallons, Thanks. You already started it on your card?"

"Yeah, forget about it, go ahead. No, your money's no good here," he said with a smile. "This is my daughter, Emilia, and my wife."

"Hi, I'm a student pilot, too", she said as she took a step toward me and took my extended hand. How does this always happen to me? God loves me. He really, really loves me. No one else does. But God reminds me like this all the time that my life is really worth living. I finally got dad to take a twenty, then flew back to Columbia with a big ole smile. Nothing like new friends. Especially pretty ones.

Oh, BTW? I touched down at CUB at 6:40.

1956 Cessna 172. No letter after the 172, it's too old.

What is that gyro? I can't seem to find any images of an Air Command YG4 (or any tandem enclosed gyro on Air Command's web site).

Yep - that matches with ELA's website's images of an Eclipse. Nice gyro. I never knew there were so many manufacturers out there.
That’s a great gyro that is designed correctly in my opinion. It is also made using aircraft steel 4130 instead of stainless. Of all the “ Eurotubs” that is the one I would have. Beautiful and fly’s great.

Belongs to Barry Thigpen. Like his Dominator it spends a great deal of time divergent from straight and level.
Barry Thigpen is just not a straight guy

I hope his wife doesn’t read this. He and I need to talk next time I see him. It’s ok if he fits that way but I don’t think he swings that way. Lol
