FAA motto

Last year at Buckeye I met an FAA inspector training for her gyro ratings.

Marilyn was a delightful person and even though she worked for the FAA she did in fact have a sense of humor.

She told me the FAA motto is:

"At the FAA we're not happy until your not happy."

I wonder if that motto was actually coined by Wes Oleszewski in his Klyde Morris comic strip, back when it ran on AvWeb. I seem to remember a cartoon in which an FAAnik says, "FAA: We're not happy till you're not happy."

Of course, he could have simply been cartoonizing (if that's a word!) a pre-existing joke.
