I bought an electric trim cylinder from one of our posters. I intend to install it on an aircommand. If anyone would be willing to post a wiring diagram and a couple photos of their installation it would be much appreciated.

That is the same module I use for my trim.

I've used them on 2 gyros and they are super.

Thanks guys, any help is appreciated. I bought the relay. What else do I need ? I’m assuming a three way switch of some kind ?

spdt, on-off-on. Toggle or rocker, your choice. Or 2 push button switch's on the stick, etc.

I added a stick mounted switch assy, trim up and trim down. Other options ok but I wanted the switches on the stick.

Guys would you post a photo of your install / rotor head attachment ? I’m assuming the trim motor simply takes the place of the manual slide bar holding the trim springs. However, I know what is said about assuming.

I'll see if I have a photo. My trim motor attaches to the bottom of the trim spring.

Guys, thank you. I bought the module and the wiring was a no brainer. The photo was clear and helped me determine the proper installation. Thanks again to all, especially member Sv.Grainne

I bought mine from a forum seller. If it doesn’t work out I’ll get one like you used. Thank you, it’s nice to have options

My first gyro was a single place air command with a 582. It came with electric trim. The gyronauts at Peach State Rotorcraft convinced me to save the weight and remove it. So I just used the same trim spring and a bracket clamp that was ground adjustable. Once I found the cruise sweet spot I never touched the bracket location again for a couple of hundred hours. So if you are the only pilot of a single place gyro, you can get away without electric trim. Here's a link to my Air Command Trim Bracket.

I was told the same thing but I like to taxi wiith the spring relatively loose, takeoff and trim for whatever airspeed I want. On landing, I release the trim tension and taxi back to the hangar.

Needed? Probably not. Nice? I think so.

This actuator works great. Not too fast.
