ELA REVO Jump Take-Off

There's a guy in Canada, whose name slips my mind at the moment, who used to build amphib. trikes and now amphib gyros. He has a video showing a takeoff by first taxiing downwind and then using the prerotation torque to turn him around into the wind. He has a powerful prerotator that gets the blades up to speed by the time he's pointing into the wind, then full power for a quick takeoff. He throws it around aggressively. No idea how close he is to the edge of the envelope.

By the way, I had a Seawing amphib. trike for many years. Portability was its strong suit. I dragged it all over the country behind my RV and we even towed it all the way to Alaska and back one year. Then I got an amphib. plane called a Super Drifter. It handles SO much better on the water b/c the elevator allows you to keep the floats perfectly on the step. A float gyro w/o elevator will also have porpoising issues same as a trike.
