The New 916 powered ELA REVO with Jump Take-Off capability has officially arrived in the U.S. we are northbound from south central Florida to Oshkosh come see us at Booth 341

Congratulations on the REVO! Should be an exciting OIskosh for all. Please post some detailed photos when able. Will the REVO be at Mentone? Safe travels.

Is jump capability for when you need to take off out of your back yard that’s too small to land in? 😊🤔🥴😂🤣😂

It's for when your back yard is so is rough, rutted, or muddy that the homeowners' association is threatening to fine you, and your lawnmower has disappeared into a hole.

I’m confused tbh. This was the first message:-

so you might think that this jump take off would be being demonstrated non stop and therefore in the age of every phone with a camera / video and YouTube channels this would have had lots of coverage?

Maybe it's north bound on a trailer.....

In all my cross-continental travels in the A&S 18A, nobody ever posted video of my jump takeoffs. I suspect they didn't know I would do it until I was already off, and had no clue what my scheduled stops would be.

Of the millions who lived along my route, literally tens were intensely interested.

yes of course but this is an aviation show with a sales and marketing team actively promoting this functionality on July 19th and yet by July 27th and the end of the show exactly zero video of it doing the thing that was promoted. That not odd to you?

Maybe. On the other hand, every time I bring up gyro jump capability on this forum, I get shouted down with, "you might as well get a helicopter instead", and told that there is no market for anything that can't be flown legally by a Sport Pilot (the legally required fixed collective and what's imperative for jumping are incompatible). If those voices are correct, this is a nonevent.

I don't believe I've seen this elsewhere:
This guy's data is all bogus, or at least not apples to apples. The R22 max speed he quotes should be in knots, not mph (that's a 15% difference), the range is factory estimated at 250 nm, not 157, etc. He also suggests that the jump-capable gyro is certified (it isn't).

They are not in their booth in the light plane area. So they are only in the main area and no one is flying usually from the main area booths. Looks like they decided to just go to the main area.

how odd. An aircraft which has something of a USP, highlighted here and then not demonstrated in the field….

$240k for jump take-off capability? I'll just continue to use my 500 ft thank you very much.
Most pilots and many CFIs here would also need to upgrade from Sport Pilot to Private-Rotorcraft/Gyroplane to fly it legally.

Looking at 61.101(e), would not a recreational pilot be able to fly this aircraft, recognizing the limitations of the recreational rating?

Yes, all three of them. 😄 Or maybe there are four (the FAA estimates 0 active Recreational gyroplane pilots as of December 2023). We have one rec pilot on the forum.

I doubt we'll see another, but if it happens, that person would not be subject to the Sport limitations.

But on this “jump take off” what is in the POH to make it happen and is it happening outside of a PR shoot? Where is Tony? Come on Tony we are all keen to know what’s happening.
