Edge performance EP912STi vs Rotax 915

A buddy of mine got the rotax 912 on his STOL 750 upgraded with edge performance kit and raves about it… so it got me wondering about the edge performance EP 912 STi vs the Rotax 915.

Price aside and purely looking at safety, reliability and performance how do they compare?

Im a very curious gyro noobie trying to learn as much as I can

We have installed 2 Edge Performance engines in AR-1 but they were bought by the owner and they do take more to install so there is some extra cost involved.
EP engine is based on the 912ULS so it is much lighter. They weld the crank and then balance it but they gearbox is still the same. They provide up to 155 HP. It is not as plug and play as Rotax stock. They do play around to tune the power which I do not understand why that can't be done before we get it.
Also it takes 10 months to get an engine and in my experience a few months to get parts and that is one reason it is ok for an end use but certainly cannot work for an OEM. Though he Polish companies are offering it
