using my Phoenix previous cyclic connected to new slider head, I have only 8 degrees of lateral head movement. That is from left stop to right stop on the stick. I think I need to shorten the length of the fulcrum from the center of the head to the top pushrod connection by about half to give me the full 19 degees lateral that I need. this will be only 4" and This seems too short.

HELP.

Hi David, it appears to me, from what you have said, that all you need to do is remove some material from the top of the head cluster plates that hold the head to the mast. The tops of those plates are the actual roll stops when the U block reaches and touches them.

Aussie Paul. :)

the cluster plates are several 1/16" from being touched. This head is Ernie's slider head and I'm sure it is right.

David you need to use your digital camera and take pictures when you ask these kinds of questions. I am lost as to what the problem is.

David,

If I am reading this correctly, your stick is hitting the stops, right?

If so, yes you will need to narrow the crossbar (I think that's what you call it)where the push-pull tubes attach.

Although I measured it once, I can't remember what the ratio is for the width of the cyclic yoke vs. crossbar width.

What brand of control stick are you using?
