Bud: I wish.....:D I am afraid I will have to disappoint you and post my house and the pond. My pond will be just a drop of water in that lake off the house.

I flew over my house and took this shot. The hole is being dug just in front of the pool.

If this picture looks like I am less than 500 ft. ....maybe I used a zoom lense....:D

Stan

You have to put water in it before the fish. Keeps the smell down also. lol

Thom

Thom: Now I know why my koi are dying...no water.

Stan: Love those pics. Especially #1 and #8. Dont stop.

God luck with the Koi pond. They seem to establish a sense of calmness to the area when they include a small waterfall (maybe even some good lighting at night). I've come across alot of beatiful ones in my county.

Great pics!

Are the circles from the watering machines?

Tim: That is an irrigation system. Most tunr 360 degrees or full circle. I you notice....that one does 3/4 of a circle...or 270 degrees. The ends of the irrigation units also pivot to get almost all of the square corners that would have been left.

Stan, if you're at 500 feet, you may as well go down to 50 feet....same violation. It's a 1,000 foot minimum for gyros...the height I've always adhered to, like when I took this photo. (click it to enlarge for the full effect)

What you talkin' bout Ken?:boink:

If Stan is over a rural area, minimum altitude is 500 feet FROM any person or property, with the ability to land safely in the event of an emergency. (Or, far enough away that no one could get your N-number.) ;)

It is over populated areas that you must be 1000 ft above the highest obstacle.

You got a good zoom lens on that picture you took from 1000 ft.

I've never been to 1,000 feet....well hardly. Actually, on that flight, a hovering San Diego P.D. snitched me off to the Montgomery Field tower, who sounded as interested as a gyro-head talking about a curling match. He was circling around Sea World, about 2 miles south of me. I said nope, I was far over the water when I was low. He said "Roger," and that was the end of it. Being the cautious pilot that I am, I did fill out and send in a NASA form just in case.

Ahem....I'd say that Stan was within 500 ft. laterally of a building in that photo, so "teknikalee," he should have been at 1,000+ above it......or am I talkin' out of my butt again? I was thinking that the 500 ft. was lateral distance only. If I am talkin' out of my butt.....never mind.

500 feet is in any direction from any person, structure or vehicle. I busted a couple of pilots for buzzing a radio tower, then I drove them out to see the guy wires they almost didn't miss. They had no idea radio/TV towers were held up by wires!

Koi Pond

Koi Pond

Hi Stan

Here are a couple of pics from the Koi pond I built last year. The Grand kids love to play around it. I just like to watch the fish.

The Grand kids think that I'm:first:

I was trying to figure out what you meant by koi?!

When you posted the pic, I said those are what we called goldfish; way back when.

My Grandpa put a pond in Grandma's back yard. Some of them suckers were a foot long.

Thom, you showed some talent with building that pond. I'll bet it's real restful sittin' there with a keg?!

Cheers :)

Stan;

I meant to ask...if nature is changing color already in early Sept., what is your mean night time temp? Must be pretty cool?!

Cheers :)

Harry

Koi are Japanese Carp. They come in many colors including white, white with black, Red with black or white, Orange with red, black, white, and black with white, red or orange. and any combination there of.

They are restful altho I don't have any kegs around. That was in my younger year. These day I like Salty Dogs.
HEhehehehe
