As a science nut, one of my interests are volcanoes.
For years I have been following the discovery and mapping of the YellowStone Super Volcano and it's history of eruptions.
Scary, even if it is on a geologic time scale.
Connie and I have even camped out on active volcano under the steam clouds of Mt. Baker so I am not that much of a worry wart..
(photo of me on a lower Andesite Volcanic Basalt Flow after camping for a week near the summit of Mt. Baker's active cone)
But Super Volcanoes can wipe out most of a continent.
The idea of finding more, even if dormant gives me a sense of both wonder and doom....
