In flight my Cavalon oil and water temps sit at around 75C but after landing and during the turbo warm down at idle the oil temp rises to between 90-100C. I have a 914 engine with an Edge big bore kit.
Has anyone else experienced a similar issue?

You do not have cooling airflow on the ground. I've added an aux fan that I turn on on landing that helps.

Heat is trapped and unable to escape the cowling when you are not moving. Having louvers that can be opened by pulling a cable etc. on the ground could work well. It is however normal for oil temp to go higher after landing and stopping before coming back down but it should not go beyond normal operating range.

Is your electric fan working?

It should switch on when your under cowl temperatures get high.

My recollection of the Cavalon Pilot’s Operating Handbook oil temperature range is 90 to 110 degrees centigrade (green arc) with the yellow arc being 50-90 C.

My recollection is the maxim oil temperature was listed at 130C.

I would be more concerned that my normal oil temperature was too low.

Check your POH.

I think you should be happy to see the oil temp over 100c at least once in the flight, this is the only way to evaporate the water out of the oil.

Not a Cavalon but aux fan I installed.
