Carolina BarnStormers Spring 2024

Weather is gonna be just fine 🙄
One of our best fly ins we ever had…..it rained all weekend 👍🏻
The forecast isn’t looking bad at all 👍🏻😊
camping is like that.... rain turns people away but some of the best camps are in less than ideal weather. I saw that several times as a boy scout leader. Folks would cancel and turn-out would be light but those that did show had a blast.
boy scout or just camping in general is one thing, but mixing in the flying-in part.... well that does make it more problematic!

We can always fly between showers. They predicted 70% rain last weekend…..never saw a drop. NC mountains break a lot of stuff up before it gets to us😊

ultracruiser41can always put in an order for good weather if he wants to. Has that much pull..
Ain’t that what he truth. He’s the God Father of Avaiation in the Carolina’s. I’m sure there is a horse head somewhere waiting for the one who doesn’t believe it either. 😂

Sorry to say, I will not be able to make it..
A gyro delivery got postponed which was my justification for the long drive.
4 days on the road and $1,000 in fuel to spend 2 days in iffy weather just doesn't compute.
Sure will miss hanging out with you guys!
I'll probably take the $1,000 that I would have spent on fuel and put it toward the Mentone Runway project.
At least then, it will not only go towards my own enjoyment, but to the enjoyment and benefit of ALL gyro pilots!

A Domino effect, Bobby and I have decided not to make the trip as well. Weather here in Texas and on the route along with your decision have made us decide not to make the trip too.

Was a tough decision for me for several reasons. Hoping for better luck next trip.

With the "late/delayed-spring storms" - through the heartland, May seems like a good month for KS fliers to stay local!

This week-end our EAA chapter 88 has its monthly membership meeting- as a fly-in /drive-in lunch at Highpoint airpark - north edge of KICT/ Charlie airspace!
We had wonderful weather this last Saturday for our monthly breakfast at the chapter building at KAAO - and Young Eagle flights - we had a good group of breakfast fly-ins - even some from OK. I got to take one teen YE for his first open-cockpit & rotorcraft flight - he totally loved the gyro flight!
One day I hope to make an XC flight over to a Barnstormer's event! It will be a good-time as always! Rain or shine!

Well….sorry some of you aren’t going to make it……..the current forecast for the week/weekend looks very good here. The flying is the icing on the cake….what makes our fly ins successful….are the people….rain or shine….friendship…..laughs….food….and the general camaraderie of the BarnStormers and Friends are what makes it happen.…you’re all our family and we can’t wait to see you!

And…..if anyone out there is in the fence about gyroplanes…..come on over…..we have over 20+ based at our field and many more that come to visit. 😊

Carolina BarnStormers are still on schedule and itching to get going. Lots of flying to do.😎🫵🏻👍🏻

Besides…..my wife says I have to be out of the house for the week😳🤔😏

Well I appreciate the invite! If I was planning to drive up to those parts the weekend following your event (visiting family in Wilmington), then I might just do it.... driving up there two weekends in a row would be a bit much for me.

Come on up…… we’re here every weekend. You’ll get a private showing.

I’m still coming up with my camper. Rain or shine! I’ve told my wife I’m going, so I’ve got to go somewhere.😂

I got a late start switching to the rental can and only made it as far as Albuquerque; 920 miles from home.

Hope to do better tomorrow and make the event by Wednesday evening.

Since were having fewer guests, looks like Laura and I will get a good seat on the bus, not where you usually stick us next too.... well you know.

What’s the matter you don’t like being strapped to the back door outside with bungies

Sorry Barnstormers. I won't be able to make it either. The transmission went out on my van and I won't get it back till Thur or Fri.
