There was a very smart guy from my old company's London office who was spending several weeks with us in NY. It was a presidential election year and he was very interested in politics so he announced, on a Thursday, that he was planning to visit Iowa for the weekend. I asked if he had already booked flights, and he said No, he was proposing to drive. I said, "You can't drive to Iowa and back in a weekend". He said, "Why not?" I said "Because it's about a thousand miles each way!" He just had no real concept of the size of this country.I'm constantly describing CONUS distances to those in the UK, which must be driven to be believed. I once spent weeks trying to cross Texas.
They wouldn't be able to understand each others accents.....Yes, but despite its size, Western Australia has almost no Texans at all in it.
The home of Land Trains. I would love to visit your country some day. I’m in lower 50’s so running out of time. I saw Europe on Uncle Sam’s dime. Sure wish I could have visited Australia instead of Austria. How many Texas's fit in western australia
Lucky couple.Austria is great, loved Germany and Italy.ǰ So is Australia but my experience was only in and around Sydney and we loved it. Also found many other countries we really enjoyed, Turkey, Greece, Taiwan, Thailand, New Guinea, Japan, Korea, Crete (part of Greece), Saudia Arabia to a point, Egypt, Switzerland, Holland, England, Ireland, Scotland, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia. Etc
