Can anyone help? Is this a Mini 500?

Yeah, Texas just seems to never end, especially when driving west on I 10. The eastern half is definitely more scenic.....
I had a friend who had to drive from Tucson to Kerrville frequently and he would routinely do around 110mph.
through W. Texas for a few hours at a time.
I-20 seems to be the better route. I did that 33.5 hrs alone. I forgot that was coming from Sierra Vista to Wimauma. I was heading to Bensen Days 1994. I was hallucinating horribly at the end. 22 years old Army strong and dumb as a box of rocks. We called it YDAFUC

Europeans have no idea about the distances we drive here. To go from the Keys to the Western border of Florida and Alabama takes 12 hrs. I once drove from home in Tampa area to Ft. Huachuka AZ. I went across on I-10. It took 33.5 hrs. That stretch between San Antonio and El Paso is pure hell. Only one place to get anything including gas. That takes a whole day by itself.
Mike:

There are many towns between San Antonio and El Paso. I made the trip from San Antonio to Ft Huachuca several times starting in the late 60s, plenty of places to fuel up or stop for the night.

Well I guess my memory is faulty. I only remember the one.

Yes, that's about the midpoint. Stops both before and after along I-10. My first trip was from Sierra Vista to San Antonio in 69.

I remember additional town names like Van Horn, Boerne, Kerrville, Ozona, etc., from a few gyro flights I took all across Texas to California roughly following I-10. I had no trouble gassing up a short range aircraft at plentiful little airports, so I imagine auto fuel stops can't be too bad. I was pleased to find cell phone coverage follows the highway even in the most remote regions, thanks to ample towers.

P.S. There's too much Texas.

Yeah, but most of them you want to forget!
El Paso would be at the top of that list.....

Agree! I hate driving thru it. The others just small towns by a Freeway.

I love the expanse and culture of Texas!
Which culture? The German culture of the hill country, the Vietnamese culture of Houston and the Gulf area, the Irish culture of the San Antonio area, or ?????

I think I start liking it E of Sonora, or Junction.
I really like Kerrville BTW. I could live there, not sure if I would want to put up with the "Overcast Season" though, but other than that it is a very nice town, nice geography and most important, not too big!

Many of those cultures may co-exist in time, but not always in the same petri dish.

Jim
Usually one ends up running out (Or eating) the others.....

I like all of the cultures in Texas, some more than others.

The diversity is part of the joy for me.

I love some of the BBQs of Texas!

Tex mex is my fav. We have quite a few restaurants based on that cuisine. Love me some sizzle from fajitas.

I understand. Diversity, but not necessarily equity since you like some more than others and that may affect your desire to be inclusive.
