C-4 "Centenario" Autogiro project

Congrats!!!
Great job, how responsive is the "Flying aileron" control?
My first teetering model had a fixed head and winglets with polyhedral tips.
The only controls were rudder, elevator and throttle, but it was very responsive and could even loop
and roll!
I have always wondered how a full scale version would perform...
Is the 80hp engine a good fit? does it climb well?
So many questions!

Thanks for all your compliments.
A lot of questions but not many answers yet, but in the next weeks we hope to get all the answers.
The pilot is Fernando Rosello, also a RWF member.
The motor has 80 hp looks ok but if we have the money to buy a radial Verner motor we will buy the 110 hp version becuase we would liek to do some travels with it, and the cruise speed in this firts circuit was around 80 to 90 kph.
It is a very draggy fuselage, too many flying wires.
Stay tunned.
See a close vide shootage from the yesterday flight, you can see better the details

Juan,

Why is the Rotax being operated without a muffler? It certainly sounds like four straight exhaust stacks. There is a potential to warp the exhaust valves without the muffler.

it was filmed the two days before the accident.
the accident root cause was lack of authority for cross winds, we anticipated the issue but the wind limit is quite low.
the pilot is ok and the autogiro has damages, of course the rotor and the rotor pylon are destroyed. One side of the fuselage, one "aileron" and half of the horizontal surface needs to be repaired.
we will need some weeks/months to do it.

he is Coronel del Ejército del Aire, Colonel of the Spanish Air Force. He is the best or one of the best autogiro instructor in Spain, and helicopter Air Force pilot

Gracias Juan.

With the recent accident, was Coronel Rosello flying the C-4? If so how bad are his injuries? I hope and pray a complete and full recovery.

As you know almost one year ago, September 27, 2023, a couple of days before official presentation to the public we had an accident with the C4.
The autogiro was very damaged but the pilot on had minor injuries.

Yesterday, flew again
The C4 replica is back to life
Enjoy the video!!

Hola Juan,

Has the rotor head been modified from the original fixed position to include pitch and roll inputs such as current gyroplanes?

Wayne

No, a fix head. The same control than before.
We only change the motor form 80 hp to 100 hp
