Hi all,
Decided to get really serious about my plans to built a gyro, so I took the big step and joined this forum ;-) Like more than a few others, I'd like to construct a GyroBee type craft.
I live and work in St. Paul, MN - USA. My technical background is in motorcycle mechanics and electrical systems, and general shade-tree engineering. I've worked in the world of vaccum-tube audio and electronics for the last decade, which is much easier on my (questionable) health than shagging motors and wheels all day. These days, my two-wheeled adventures are limited to mopeds, and I've taken a real shine to the VeloSolex bikes.
Motorcycles have many more 'mission critical' components than do automobiles, and likewise, aircraft have more than motorcycles. I don't expect having too much trouble making the leap into homebuilt aircraft, but I'll trust you all to point out my impending idiocies before any real damage is done.
Anyway, looking forward to meeting you. Please call me Bill.
Bill
