I am plannig to buy some new wheels and put some brakes on the main wheels. I really see $500.00  for wheels and hydraulic brake to expensive.Does some one recommend me a brake system with some wheels? I was plannig to get hance 6"x6" rims. I heard that I can adapt cable brakes on it.
recomendations please!!!!

Several people have been adapting cable actuated Mountain Bike Disc brakes to their gyros(that's what I am going to use on my Gyrobee:). These brakes are small, light weight, relatively inexpensive($30-70 each including rotor) and should have ample stopping power for a light single seat gyro. It is not just a simple bolt on affair however and does require that you fabricate adapters to mount the disc/rotor to the wheel and the caliper to the axel/strut. The best pictures that immediatly come to mind of this type application are those of John Landry's Gyrobee. If I recall correctly they were posted on the Lone Star Gyro website(sorry, don't recall the address) He has also been using them for a while now so you might send him a message and ask him how he likes them.

Screw-In

Why do you want brakes on your Bensen/KB-2. I thought about it, but after an hour or so, I realized they weren't needed.

The wood, holding brake is just that, a holding brake and works well. That big spinning thing above you head is the best brakes available. with a good headwind, I can even go in reverse! :D

Screw-Out

Screw, Here we use it alote for take off . You know that when you engage the pre rotator the blades start to lift the front wheel and the front brake is useless. Here gyro looks like helis. They take off from about 2 to 3 feet of the ground. If you have brakes on the wheels when the gyro tilts back you can still add more rpm to the blades for a good vertical take off

Joes, what type of prerotator do you use

Jose, Hyd brakes with a line lock to hold yourself on the runway is the best combo I`ve found yet! Hit the pedal with your foot, push the line lock in ,release the pedal, now you are in the prerotor Mode. Spin the blades as fast as you can, back the throttle down, touch the pedal with your foot,Presto your ready to ROLL! Gas more Gas Yee Ha your in the Air! I`ve found that brakes on the Gyro are only used for Prerotator & taxing. The brake kit that i offer is competively priced for the quality of the product you receive.Check out Aircraft Spruce,Wicks,Leading Edge for there prices. Add it up & you will see the difference.
