Bensen Days 2008 event news thread

Looks good Trez. Instead of piling on something else to do for the organizers how about if some of us print out about 10 copies each of the schedule and drop them off at the registration desk for them to hand out? I'll print some copies to take with me.

Thanks Trez, And Tim great Idea I will print them up and put in everybodys Packet.

Tim,
I'm a little ticked that I can't attach my Works Processor Document since it fits a regular printed page and looks much better. Now I wish I had Word.
But I think your idea is a good one. Might check for accuracy though. I tried to get it right but sometimes I'll miss something obvious.
I'll print up some too......
Thanks,
Trez

I copied and pasted the schedule and cleaned it up a little. I've got 10 copies already printed out to take with me. I'll be arriving Monday afternoon/evening.

I don't mind but the condensed version is kinda confusing to follow if you ask me.... If I were more of a computer nerd I would have done a chart or something better looking, but I wanted to keep each days stuff separate from the next days. No worries though, I did my 4 hours of volunteer work so I get to just go down and relax! :)

The condensed version I made is not like what I posted. I couldn't get a .wps file to upload, don't have MS Word. It looks good and easy to read but I had to copy and paste and lost all the clarity in the process.
I'll try to do better next time.....

That's pretty neat. Sometime tell me how you did that.

Ron: Excellent effort on your part for organizing the events. Thanks...this will make everyones visit easier....

Someone asked the question about requirements to fly at Bensen days, but what about events?

I know and fully agree low timers like me are and should be excluded from spot landing and something like that... but what about bomb drop? At least looking from the outside, that seems like only a very small distraction from flight tasks compared to some of the other events and it takes place at an altitude with a little wiggle room.

Recreation Director here.
I checked in to see the admission for Cypress Gardens and nearly fell out of my chair to see that it is 40 bucks for a one day admission. I see at Great America up by me, it is 55 dollars daily admission unless you get an online ticket and then you pay as much as CG. I don't normally go to these places, which is why I'm having a money freak out right now.
Would it be necessary for me to go to CG as it seems primarily kid-based, and I don't have kids, therefore kind of boring for me to go? I didn't know if anyone was counting on me to go bc I am self-appointed Recreation Director of these trips, but 40 bucks seems really really steep for something that might not hold a lot of adult attention span.

Although I have never been one of my employees is 83 and he has season tickets. Seems there is alot of adult stuff too.

Joe,

I have seen they offer concerts and such (none I can tell the days we are there) which would appeal to adult audiences, but the other concern, personally, that I have is that 40 bucks on one day activity is a bit stretching my budget. Between the costs of getting to BD, gyro fuel, etc, and to be fair to Adam, I'm trying to plan activities (for myself) that are budget friendly. I'm not stopping anyone else from going, all I'm saying is that I probably will have to bow out of attending that activity for personal money reasons.

Then just hang out. Thats what I do and I am never bored. Bring something shiny for me to stare at.

Angie,
Cypress Gardens used to have a daily waterski stunt show (not sure if they still do), it has a lot of gardens and I think it has a riverboat ride, screened-in butterfly solarium(?), etc. It is not just for kids. $40 probably sounds expensive but you could spend the whole day there.
