Dave Prater THANK YOU :)

Hi Folks,

BENSEN DAYS 2005 Was a Blast from the Past to a Rush
for the Future!

We had a Great turn out and lots of new Family
Members. Yes it is alot of Work to host this
Wonderful Fly-In, and sometimes it can take its Toll
on anyone. But all in all Sunstate Pulled it OFF.
Thanks to many of our clubs members help and ideas,
and support. Herman Yates Thanks for doing the Fly
Market Sale once again. Big Thanks to Greg Spiccola
and Davie Seace, Rick Martin who so Kindly let us Gyro
Nuts use their hanger for Shelter from the Storm on
Thursday nite. Also for letting us hang out in the
hanger.
Ann Cook did a LOT of Volunteer Time at the
Registration Desk, THANK YOU MS ANN COOK :)

Boo Bouchard did a Wonderful Job helping to keep the
flight line clear and parking the fixed wingers and
being there for anything we needed help with. Boo has
been a BIG Help to Sunstate for Many Many Years
helping us Host this Great Fly-In.

Well we tried to Pull Off a Pot Luck Dinner Thursday
nite and we had it almost done when the STORM came.
As we sat down to eat the wind/rain/hit us so hard
that the plates/napkins/some light weight food items
became airborne. Well as the women folk start
grabbing for items the men folk watched in wonder as
to how that bowl of Salad could fly like that.
Bull Browns machine was the only one to fall over, as
far as I know. It did hurt the rotor blades and hub
bar from my understanding. Sorry Bull no Sunkist
picking this year.

Needless to say that was a big flop. Poor Ms Cook and
Connie Boyette who cooked all day and prepared all
that wonderful food. Thanks to All who Contributed to
the Pot Luck Nite. We will Try it again next year and
hope for better weather.

Banquet nite was Awesome. Dinner was good, and the
door prizes were a great donations by many
Vendors/CFI/Members, etc. Thanks for the Gifts you
gave to Sunstate for those door prizes.
AWARDS went out for

Most Innovative / Dick DeGraw,Ernie Boyette for the
LIFNO (hell if I know)

Best Workmanship / Ken Rehler

Grand Champion Single Seat Gyro / Dwight Junkin
This was the Mosquito Helicopter

Grand Champion Two Seat Gyro / Not sure of the
Gentleman's name. The Golden Butterfly. Brad/Diane
King came with the gentleman and Brad flew the
machine.

We finished out the evening in front of the fire back
at the airport Friday after the Banquet. We had lots
of Pickers and Singers it was a great time by all.

Thanks Rick Martin for getting all that together and
for sharing your music talent with all of us.
Thanks again to All who helped entertain us.

The attendance was up compared to last years BD Days
and we Hope that 2006 will be even Bigger and Better.
Theme will be "Remembering". Walk down Memory Lane
and thoughts about those who have past.

THANK YOU to Many of you who traveled far and near to
enjoy this Bensen Days with Sunstate it was our

Labelle Airport is still closed. May Fly-In will be
May 21-22,2005 at Wauchula Airport. Hope to see more
and more Members show up each month and Help Sunstate.

We signed up 4 new members to the club during BD Days
and we also signed up 4 new members for PRA.

I could go on and on about BD Days 2005 it was so
Wonderful to visit with the Family.
But I must save on printing lol.

Till May. MJ :)

Lost!!
We just come off of Pulling off one of the Most Wonderful Greatest Fly-Ins of the year and we still have to ask WHY we pay PRA $40.00 for a years membership.

Geez mine is in the mail Pam. MJ :)

PRA did help us with membership forms and any assistance we needed from Sue, to Gary down to Dave. This is for them to enjoy they host Mentone and have to work that whole week, as we work the BD Days. But the offer for services was on the table and they did help in anyway they could, so I have to say that PRA did help in hosting BD Days 2005. And Sunstate Thanks Them ALL. MJ :)

Registering on the Comcast site to view pics.

Hey Gents,
I registered to see the pics. Is this Comcast and Snapfish registering thingo a problem? Will I get pounded with spam? Now I'm worried. :(

Great Pics, looks like you guys had a great time. :)

Cheers,

Mitch.

Hey MJ, The potluck dinner wasn't bad. I really appreciated it. When the top of my tent blew off and got everything wet inside I said to Bob "I might be going to bed wet, but I sure am not going to bed hungry!" I thought the food was great!

George,

is the gyro in picture 008 photo-shopped in?

That Picture 008 is Fantastic! I ordered it as a 5x7 and I might get a bigger one if it looks as good as it does online. It would make a great cover for a magazine...

Picture 8 is Greg Spicola.
I have to agree with you that it would be a great magazine cover photo.
I just don't know if Greg can handle the fame.

Please pardon me if I am wrong but the bottom of the Port wheel seems to make it look like the picture was photoshopped. Also, typically even at a very fast shutterspeed you get more blur out of the rotor and prop tips, shadows seem to be falling at the wrong angles and the coneing angle seems like it would be more.

Barnstorm,

Yea, a couple of the in-flight pix are photo-shopped in. Send me a good shot of you in your Gyro and I'll zap you in too.

Here are the photos posted to my website. Depending on your connection speed some pix may take 5-10 seconds but they will make good 4x6 or 5x7 prints. Download and enjoy.

Still more Bensen 2005 pix

Still more Bensen 2005 pix

I added 50 more pix from Bensen Days 2005 and one more photo-shopped image. Mitch. Snapfish isn't too bad. I get maybe two e-mails a month from them, but you can opt out. I use them because you can load super high-res. photos that will make great 8x10s and they will print them for you or download the file.
