Total Flight Time
2650
The original builder died years ago, his nephew got the gyro and never did anything with it. I bought it. I need room and MUST sell.
I mistakenly sold the Bensen blades (long story, I'd be glad to explain), other than that, it is a complete gyro, save for the "Rain gauge" air speed indicator, but I may have a brand new one in a box.
May be able to bring to Bensen Days in an enclosed trailer.

This stock Bensen B8-M features.

Powerplant:
90 HP McCulloch engine
Holley carb
Fuel pressure regulator
Wood 2 blade prop

Airframe:
Glider quick release tow hitch on nose boom (for tow training)
Unitized steering (steer with pedals)
Scrub brake (standard Bensen / Goodyear) (wood block good for 1 year) :-)
Westach Engine tach, 2 1/4"
Westach Cylinder head temperature gauge 2 1/4 "
Bracket for ASI (may have an ASI)
Metal (Bensen) vertical stabilizer and rudder
Metal horizontal stone shield (Bensen)
Brock 9 (?) gallon seat tank (may be 8.9? gallon)
Bensen steel pump handle joystick
Twist grip throttle on joystick
Ohlsen-Rice Bensen prerotator (2 stroke mix) (the original GoPed)
Bensen sprung tailwheel

There are no modifications, that I can find, to the stock Bensen design. Craftsmanship looks better than average. Brock seat tank was an Bensen option at one time. I does not appear to have been damaged in any way.

Trailer (pictured) is also available, alone, or with the gyro.

Best offer over $2800 gets the gyro
Best offer over $200 gets the trailer.
Trailer jack (shown in photo, was borrowed and is not included) (notice C clamp) Trailer appears to have been designed for a pair of Snomobiles. Trailer is in very good condition, has clear title.

Stains on stone shield will probably wash off with solvent as it appears to be MAC exhaust oil drippings.

Trailer is a tilt style and as such, has no ramps. Trailer's wood deck is very sound.

barn find

if you decide to part out ,I m interested in the ohlsson rice prerotator and rotor head as complete unit ,of course it must be in running condition

it would be a shame to part out a classic, these are getting hard to find in good condition and if it is still for sale later I will buy it.

I am about to list it on Barnstormers, but I'll wait to hear from you. I have seen people pay over $3,000 for a 90 MAC engine alone. I just don't have the time and space to keep and restore this "Survivor".

I would say the price is right. I have a set of wood blades that came with my Bensen B-8. It came with a set of wood blades, un-touched in the wrapper, wrapper comming off. And a real nice set of aluminum blades that I am going to use. I have no idea of what the wood blades are worth but may part with them for the right price. The auto rotation looks to be a nice one.

I have received a verbal contract from a buyer. The buyer may be interested in parting some of it out. I will ask him to post his parts on this thread.

Either the Utah rotorcraft/gyro-glider guys (PRA Chapter 2) or the El Mirage (PRA Chapter 1) glider guys most likely would like these to fly their gyro-gliders with.

According to those who have flown w/ wooden blades, a couple of pat-ups w/ the hand, and then they easily "catch" and accelerate up to flying speed. No mechanical pre-rotators needed.

Plus, they are usually priced right for guys on a budget.
