After a 7 year hiatus and for a bunch of reasons....
I am a gyro pilot again!!!
Yesterday was my first flight in my refurbished Sportcopter here in Guam! It has taken a lot to get to this point
My hats off to Jim, Evan and the crew, she performed flawlessly. I got a chance to shoot 3 landings before the weather moved in.
I am in no rush, but excited to see what she can do.
I am a much older and less bolder pilot now, I will be safe. Promise!

It feels like a big sigh of relief, I will slowly get to enjoy it more and more. The brief time aloft was so concerned with gauges and technical details I didn't allow myself any time to look around and enjoy it. As it should be.
I'll enjoy the next few flight even more!

Me too, I know the pain.
They took my medical away for having cancer and treatment side effects just after I got my ride here. I knew if I finished her I would fly her.
If I did not represent PRA in following the rules and safety I would have flown it to confess the truth. I mean it would be sitting there built calling me to go play. I'm weak in that regard.
But the good news is, no more treatments, for now, my last test did increase my PSA but it in the middle, and I might be able to get my medical back.
Then get my driver's license medical before they find anymore.
It sucks being grounded.
Thank God I have so many friends that let me fly with them both FW and gyro?

Thank you, Jay.
I really do know you care, Bro as I do about you!

Until I thought I might have a chance of beating it I did not want anyone to know just how sick I was. Down to 67 lbs at one time. Double that weight now.
Need another biopsy one more tiny spot maybe.
The cancer treatments themselves have been far worse than the almost symptomless cancer.

I was surprised, it was one of the best-kept secrets!
Only a few of the PRA officers knew. Because I would in the hospital for a week at a time on occasion and could not book the members or run the office they had to know.
And Dave Bacon and Chapter 31 all knew and they never said a word at my request.
I was afraid that if the public knew that the growth of PRA might stop, thinking all the programs I've added might end and or not be finished, like the discounted group insurance program. That because of Vance's help quantifying accidents it is ready to write the actual web program to present PRA's testing questions and checkride program to Hall Mark Ins for them to add to it or change and then it will be a real offer to save 50% if we can get enough pilots who want insurance.

It is safe now for all to know, it appears I'm going to live long enough to finish all of PRA's programs and projects that really will help all of our community.

Today, my motto is still. Well, I'm alive and above ground and I'm not throwing up right now. Life is good.
That's changed a great deal than when I was well for over 60 years with only broken bones.

Brother Ben, used to post some awesome flying stories.
Cannot wait to live vicariously through his sharing his adventures while he's knocking the rust off and his flying skills return to automatic.

Thank you all, John I am sorry to hear of your medical issues.
I will post more flying tales soon. For now I am taking it slow. Made 10 landings today in different configurations. Almost all of them good. I may have an ASI thats not reading right...ill check next chance I get.

Looking forward to your story's Ben.
That bloody cancer, we need to get rid of that bugger. I don't think there's anyone on earth that doesn't know of someone dealing with cancer.
F**k cancer.

What do you mean about "different configurations"?
The only landings I watched you make previously were engine-idle, touching down smooth-as-silk ones...
