Anybody have photos from Mentone 2019?

I have been working on the words Chris. Until I get the words done here are sixteen pictures from beginning to end.

It was one of the friendliest gyroplane events I have been to.

There was only one mishap with moderate damage and no injuries.

Good weather, good people, good flying and lots of fun.

I learned a lot at the seminars.

Another eight pictures.
I love the quiet after it is over.
That is my rental Prius in what used to be crowded parking.

Images 434 & 439: Vance: Do you know who owns that tractor-style gyroplane? Was it flying @ Mentone?

Looks like Sport Copter tail feathers. Dominator-style cyclic stick. Rotax 915 (or painted valve covers of a R-192/R914 to look black).

Good afternoon Kevin.
I blew up 34 and looked closely at 39 and do not see a tractor.

Sorry...I should have written tail-dragger gyro instead of tractor.
The mains look like they sport the "Rough Field Package" wheels & tires that Sport Copter uses on their machines. with the pilot in the seat, most of the weight is rearward of where the mains contact the ground.

I don't know anything about that gyroplane Kevin and I don't recall seeing it fly.

Photo 439 is missing a front nose wheel! Yikes!

Didn’t look like there were a lot of gyros there?

It looked like a lot of gyroplanes to me Dave and for me it was one of the nicest conventions I have been to.

It seemed everyone was on their best behavior.

I missed Ernie, Chris and Abid.

Dick was there with his amazing twin propeller gyroplane.

Norman was a hoot and learning from Maxi is always a treat.

I enjoyed every minute of the event and the whole adventure.

When two students rescheduled it was like God was telling me to go to AirVenture too and I am so glad I did.

The National Train Museum was a lot of fun and I loved the Tall Ships.

I hope to be there next year.

Life treats me well.

Forty-three gyros at Mentone this year.

The one with out the nose gear is actually a tail dragger. According to the owner it had not flown but he has taxied it.

The frame reminds me of a single dominator that is flipped upside down am parts installed from the opposite ends.

Here are some photos that I took. I was only there on Thursday.
Separate note to Vance, I saw you there, have never met you and only wanted to introduce myself but you were surrounded by people until I heard you say that you had to go for another appointment. I wasn't going to intrude at that point. Next time.Such is the price of fame. :D

Sorry I missed you.
Next time just butt in.
You will meet more people that way.
I was probably off to give my talk about proficiency check rides.
Public speaking frightens me.

Georgio, thanks for all the great gyro photos!! Nice to see all the different types. I miss my Sportcopter. Looks like you have a nice AR-1 gyro!

Vance - just pretend you are speaking to your friends since it will make it easier. Don’t really care what they think so nothing to worry about! :)

When I am giving a talk about flying a gyroplane if I communicate badly someone could get hurt.

I have aphasia from my traumatic brain injury and I have trouble finding words to communicate what I am thinking.

I find in embarrassing when I stop in the middle of a sentence for the lack of a word with the correct meaning.

This embarrassment only makes the aphasia worse.

I manage my fears and most people don't notice my peculiar speech pattern.
