Any Vortex owners near East TN?

I'm thinking of getting back into gyros, and I'd like to take a fresh look at the Vortex since I haven't seen one in over a decade. The 582 version is more what I'd be looking to buy, though I can certainly lust after a 912 version.

We (Carolina Barnstormers) have Sport Copters and other gyros at Anson county airport... KAFP NC. Someone is there most weekends .

Thanks for the picture. I happened to see one locally that shares a hangar with a Dominator that's for sale. It was interesting seeing both side by side. I just brought home Dominator project yesterday, and will eventually get around to building it. It was so reasonably priced that I couldn't resist, so if I change gears and find something better I'll still do that.

Is your nosewheel larger than the standard stock Vortex nosewheel? It looks like it in your photo, but I see it's not the new upgraded one like in Ben's photo.

Yep
The front wheel is larger and I moved the tail further back .
(It’s a slightly modified Sport Copter)
It’s a very nice machine .
With that being said I recommend talking with Jim @ Sport Copter before modifying anything on one.
Sport Copter has upgrades for older machines .
