When I was a Cadet in Military school and collage, I was the military band drum-major. Every year the local Marine units in Kansas City would invite our band to play for their annual birthday party. In fact, I have made up an elite part of our band into a smaller unit especially for this event. I attended their birthday bash 4 years in a row as the Drum-Major of our special unit. It was quite an honor on my last year in the Academy when the Marine Unit Sergeant Major surprised me with an award for my service to their unit. An honor I hold high in my heart.

It was a true honor and pleasure to have helped in their calibrations.

Oh, and when we got to go to the big city.... there were the other benefits of being in uniform! ;-)
