Leigh- Way to go. Looks like you are having fun. That's what its all anout! I bet that is so much more relaxing than the complex instrument missions you used to fly. Stan

Thanks Ed, it does look a bit more dramatic with that low mounted camera than it is, but yes the feed back you get with 'G' loading is totally missing which does make it look a bit strange.

Stan you have no idea. Those IFR flights one is trying to get as high as possible for fuel economy, if you aren't above weather you are so high that you see very little detail on the ground. This flying is so totally different. So much more by feel and sight. Stick, rudder, feed back from your seat, airspeed, wind in your face. Just a total delight.

Looking great Leigh. Thanks fr the ride. You know that camera did a really good job or was the pilot that made it look so smooth? LOL. Thanks for the ride. That curved road is great you'll find the wind in your favor no matter where its coming from you just fly to the appropriate portion of it :)

Wow, Leigh, another very enjoyable flying gyro video from you!

It's too bad all of us are so spread out from each other...to not be able to fly together.

Maybe you already posted on another thread...what type of cam are you using for these nice videos?

Thanks Gabor, no just lucky that the gyro flies very smoothly and the camera is great. Yes love following the curves. Really spoiled for choice on the airfield, just mowed, very smooth and an abundance of runways and perimeter track to land on. It is radio required and PPO so we a movements board for inbound and outbound traffic. During the week very quiet. Also always an ear and eye out for stray traffic. The wind can be very variable so have lots of crosswind landing practice.

Thank you Kevin, yes it is a very good little vid cam and does take very nice shots. I have been pleased with the results I get with it.

It is an HD Contour. Very small very light and versatile and programmable settings via the computer. There is a thread on it http://www.rotaryforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=22801&highlight=Contour

Aah the John/Jon's. Thank you both.

Slow exploration of personal and machine boundaries. Always felt a need to know, if for nothing else, just how far one can go when it becomes necessary, and of course for the sheer joy of flight.

Count blessings at having discovered a unique niche in aviation, a way of aviating within my financial grasp and that is incredibly responsive and intriguing in it's complexity, certainly to me.

Never been good at mechanical things, or anything too complicated, just always loved flight and getting off the ground. It's been very fulfilling, met some amazing people.

Very fortunate with the field we fly from, it's big, reasonably remote, and in lovely countryside. Also starting with basics, and getting great instruction.

Jon, my HD Contour is stuck between two pieces of trailing edge foam strip which I tie wrap between the front forks just above the nose wheel. Cheap cheerful and works very well.
