A Yamaha Aircraft Engines Facebook group member submitted this link to me, I thought you folks on RWF would like to see this.

Go to http://www.aeromomentum.com

Looks like another Honda FIT remanufacturer, doesn't it? The price points are $9k - 13k. 100 HP and 117 HP, 178 lbs and 188 lbs respectively. They are building motors from new parts, apparently.

PSRU is 2.588:1

That looks more like a Suzuki engine to me.

They use brand new Suzuki 4 cylinder engines. I have probably 500 hours or so behind converted Suzuki engines. The 3 cylinders suffered from harmonics but the 4 cylinders were pretty nice but about 35 pounds heavier than 912ULS. Worked great in trikes though. Smooth as silk with MPFI. They have their own design gearbox and are located in Florida.

Dad is building one right now for Russ King. We went to their shop to pick the engine up. Very nice people and looks like it could be a great engine for the price. Only time will tell though.

Hey Mike,
Is it a single or tandem Dominator that the aeromomentum is going in?

I noticed that they already offer a Root Tube Mount, Part No. EM1-005 that should work on a Dominator or Air Command.

Someone wrote on RWF about problems flying a tandem Viking Dominator up in the Rockies, taking off high up in the Rockies. Who was that?

This power plant here is basically the same power-to-weight ratio as the Viking kit, so how will this engine perform any better taking of from 6000' MSL?

Not a Dominator. That was a Sport Copter Single with a Viking No a normally aspirated engine is going to suffer. The owner of these engines has mentioned they may be looking at putting a turbo on one of the engines. Dad has a turbo on his Viking. He is only boosting 4 pounds. He estimated he's getting 140 HP out of it. He is pulling in excess of 650 lbs of thrust.

What the PSRU ratio on that turbo Viking?

You can boost to about 7 lbs without changing any thing on your normally aspirated

engine and with that low of a boost an intercooler isn't needed.

My 2.5 Subaru is using 6 lbs of boost and has more than 650 trouble free hours so far.

Best regards,
