Kali-forney-ia has a lot of problems, the taxes stink, the liberals run free without leashes, not enough people like guns , and we have a girly boy gov-en-ator. So why should we live here??? Because of a day like today.

I got to the airport, planning to take a short 40 minute flight. I was dressed in a t-shirt and shorts, perfect for open air gyro flying in January,.... right. The takeoff temp was a bone chilling 80 degrees!! As soon I got airborne, and up to 700 feet, I could see the water shimmering from the Pacific Ocean and enjoyed watching the coastline from Newport Beach to Santa Monica (in Los Angeles County). The mountain s in San Bernardino were capped with snow, the visibility nearly unlimited. The clear warm weather was welcoming the few lucky pilots who were airborne. A nice quick run back and forth to Orange County and I was done. It was my third flight this week.

To all you guys with your gyros frozen solid to the ground, I feel sorry. Hopefully the weather will turn around soon.:plane:

Rub it in ... rub it in .... rub it in ....
Those Florida guys are going to get upset !!

Sounds like you had a good flight Scott . Just so you don't feel so bad , I heat my home with a wood stove and it is 80* at my desk so there !!!!

We were at -35 a couple of days ago and I keep trying to be positive by telling myself ..... no grass to cut ..... no yard work to do .... no bandits lurking in the shadows .... no poisonous snakes in my yard ...... no alligators to watch out for .... I have the same first name as the governator but we are not related .... I still have a sense of humor ....

That is all I can think of and it ain't much.

Arnold

ps: our air density is thousands of feet below sea level .... that is good ... yes... ??
Even an Adam Wilson Choppy would fly here

Hi Scott,

Glad to read you had an enjoyable flight. Yes, the weather at the present for us here is fantastic. You have to take a camera with you. If that El Nino ever arrives then our weather will change to long days pouring rain. Until then, let's keep enjoying what we have!

Hi Scott, even though it's not as bad overe here as up at Arnie's place in Canada, I envy the Santa Anna weather which makes flying in SoCal so great in winter. But hey, you got to pay for it with weeks of dreary June gloom ;)

Ah boy. Still not flyin' here in Central Florida...18* today. :ohwell:

Cheers :)

It was a beautiful day here today (Sunday). Sunny, hi of 15 degrees.

Wife and I went snowshoeing for a couple of hours. It's nice to get out in the brisk crisp air. Hope my gyro didn't miss me too much.

It was 81 degrees today, even warmer, but I had to work. No flying today, solike the sufers say....bummer.

I am surprised the Pres, didn't take credit for our good weather, and blame the republicans for the freezing weather back East.
