If I use the stub wings, I would do exactly as you suggest. I am looking into fuselage shape, as a lifting force as well. This seems quite tricky. If you feel it necessary to try stub wings make them pitch adjustable and removable to facilitate experimentation.
Great videos. I plan to use a swingarm with a slightly overdamped, and high spring rate, air spring in the tail (vs the common underdamped leaf spring).A couple of videos to illustrate tailwheel loads of a taildragger gyro and the need for a stout a rebound free design.
Good Stuff. I am currently trying to fit my fuse design into a STOL wing airfoil; and attempting to adjust for fitment. The part that is a little difficult, is I will be tapering the 2 side trusses into each other; with the side trusses eventually meeting within the rudder. Sorrell Hiperbipe seems to keep a wide fuselage all the way to the tail. This tapering in mine may cause me to bleed off some of the downwash as the air hugs the top of the fuselage.Try looking up Sorrell Hiperbipe as an example.
Thank you Jeff. How does the douglas fir do with water?
