Hello, friends.
I had some free time last fall.
I have sketched two design options for an ultra-light gyro tractor and I want to share with you the ideas of this project.
Two constructions formed the basis:
- Hafner Rotachute
- frame of airplane Skyranger

The frame is made from aluminum pipes:
- dia. 50x1,5 mm
- dia. 30x1,5 mm
- dia. 20x1,5/1,0 mm
The mass of the frame without an engine, propeller, rotor head, control wiring, fasteners and skin, but with the chassis, seat and gas tank (as in the pictures) turned out to be about 52 kg.

Steel motor frame.
Motor mount and front landing gear a la SkyRanger.
Those. angle of steel pipe 50x2.0mm with welded 2.5mm sheet plates and engine mounts.
Engine mount struts from a steel pipe 20x1mm.
The front strut 30x1.5, fork 18x1.5mm, has shock absorption with rubber washers with aluminum gaskets, controlled by tubular rods from the pedals (a la SkyRanger).
Docking of aluminum pipes 30x1.5 in a typical frame on 4 mm plates of D16T and M6 bolts.
Of course, tubular spacers are mandatory inside the pipes at the place where the bolts pass, so as not to crush the pipe.
Again, see the SkyRanger manual.
The jumpers above the pilot’s head are made of 20x1 aluminum pipe, but have lugs made of 18x1 steel pipe.

Stick control. Typical for many gyroplanes ...
Steel pipes 18x1 and 20x1.
Caprolon bearings.
Further, the control wiring can be made by rods with intermediate rockers mounted on the upper cross member of the seatback. Or "Pool-push" cables.

Steel parts are gray
Aluminum parts - green
Steel brackets for fastening aluminum pipes 30x1.5 are all the same from a steel rectangular profile 50x35x2.5mm

Tail.
The stabilizer spar is an aluminum pipe 30x1.5.
The contour is an aluminum pipe 20x1.0.
Same for rudder.
The stabilizer halves are placed on the front of the M6 bolt.
At the back, they are simply inserted with a 6mm diameter coaxial pin (there is a cap with a pin) into the hole of the radius washers fixed to the "keel" side member through a riveted 8x1.0 steel tube.
The stabilizer halves are framed with f4mm cables.
and tail wheel

More details - fixing the main landing gear.
Plates - aluminum sheet - 4mm. A support from a steel pipe 20 x 1.0 mm.
The cross-member is an aluminum pipe 30x1.5, to which the main posts are attached, reinforced with three bougie - at the edges and in the center, with a 2mm wall.
Springs of the main chassis - fiberglass profile with a diameter of 28 mm.
Main landing gear made of fiberglass unidirectional profiles

The second option is a tail wheel.
In this version, I showed what could happen if we use a different ideology of construction.
Not a SkyRanger, but for example a typical frame of a motor hang-glider cart, turning it backwards.
And I like this option more ... ;)

Always happy to share.:)
Tail wheel.
The main landing gear.
In this version, the chassis spring is also made of fiberglass profile, but not of circular cross section, but of rectangular - 40x25mm.
Steering wheel.
