There is a lot of argument on the forum on CLT, non-CLT etc.
HS and no HS, but unfortunately mostly negative stuff...

I would like to start something more positive:

Tell us about your dream machine !

It must not be perfectly realistic, but a detailed description might
be inspiring for others.

I got this idea from Andre's post on the CLT (sic) thread, which
I take the freedom of quoting here:

quadrirotor said:
....as may be the concept of cold air tip-jets prerotator on an offset hinged four blades rotor, and IFAP, i discribed above, the industry will follow...If the noise is OK, this will be the new glory of the gyro, and then there will be no problem of PRA, magazine, etc...and the market could be widened for the small Bensen-monoseat-type gyro...
The tip-gyro could solve all the flaws, the commun pilot sees, in the gyro:
-tip driven prerotators to solve the problem of very long takes off (for the two-seats).
-offset hinged four blades rotor to solve the problem of vibrations, and above all, to solve the everlasting problem of instability as the offset hinges give full control on the moments (bunt and other...) even in a low G...
-IFAP (In Flight Added Power) for efficiency, as the rotor is not banked backwards!...

That's the only way to go!...

"DREAMS ARE THE BASIS FOR ALL REAL ADVANCES" Piazeki
http://www.piasecki.com/index.html

But if the noise is unbearable for certain areas: the simplified synchropter i proposed earlier, could be a good solution...

So, Andre, if you could elaborate on your dream machine for the beginning.
I am not sure why 4 blades, what is the advantage of offset
hinges....?

BTW.: Piasecki is a Polish name, means more or less Sandman.
(Actually you pronounce it Pyasetski, rather then Piazeki :) )
His connections to Poland are still there, his company is the US dealer
for the Polish PZL Swidnik W-3A "Sokol" (Hawk) helicopter.
And his Vectored Thrust Ducted Propeller (VTDP)
compound helicopter technology in light version in direction gyro
is MY DREAM MACHINE.

So this is my dream machine, but significantly scaled down:

more seriously!

more seriously!

This one, four blades (less shaky, better balanced...), offset hinged blades (full control on moments, even at zero G...), cold air tip-jet IFAP...

even more reachable, low tech.

even more reachable, low tech.

Same setup than previously but with a Barnett.

This was the own and prefered gyrodyne of Piaseki himself!...

Piasecki, my idol. :)

Albert's my mate.
Maybe my dreams arn't too exciting, coz my ferel is close to my dream machine.

I reckon all it needs to be compleat is a very simple vto systm and a teetering prop.

all you need is...

all you need is...

Birdy, what you need to cancel all the torques at the prop (reaction torque and gyroscopic precession torque): :)

(i am waiting your photo, your ferel and your RAF!... )

Reaction torque yes,but gyroscopic?,how?? are they teetered?

Yes ,when I git time to scratch meself I'll git the pics.Anything in perticular you want to see.??

In the counter rotative prop, the precession torque of a prop cancels the precession torque of the other!...When you turn right, the right turning prop tends to make the nose to dive (90 degrees effect) and the left prop tends to make the nose to lift...cancelling each other!... :)

A nice qoute of Frank Piasecki:

" always being able to tell a real aviation pioneer, because just like the Old West, these guys were usually walking around with a lot of arrows in their rear end... "

Never thought of it that way Andre, makes sence.
Although a single teetering prop would be mechanicaly simpler, they hould have the same effect.
Would the twin prop set up be noiser??
And are things like that on the market??

I gota git one of them Andre, how do I do that?? :)

If you can orginise it,I'll post the pix. ;)
